FROM BALANCE OF POWER TO BALANCE OF ALGORITHM: REVISITING REALISM IN SOCIETY 5.0

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence is no longer just a technological innovation, it transforms the ways of interactions of states, institutions and societies. It has a dual nature, posses both risks and opportunities. It enhance communication, predictions and defence system and also creates challenges due to deep fake, misleading information and cyber frauds. These realities rises a question that the traditional theories of international relations are developed according to the world where power is only associated by state, wars are won by powerful military and weapons but now AI redefines the definition of power and changes the ways which are used to win the war in battlefield. This article revisit realism to examines how international relations are reshaped by Artificial Intelligence and Balance of power changes into Balance of Algorithm.
