Endometriosis is a chronic condition that can affect physical functioning, psychological well-being, social relationships, and quality of life. Self-compassion may be relevant to how women respond to illness-related challenges, while post-traumatic growth offers a framework for examining perceived positive psychological changes following difficult experiences. Further investigation is needed to understand these factors among women from diverse Asian contexts. This study aims to explore the challenges associated with living with endometriosis and examine the relationships between self-compassion, quality of life, and post-traumatic growth among Asian women. A mixed-methods design is proposed, involving a quantitative sample of 250 Asian women and a qualitative sample of 15 women. The quantitative component examines self-compassion, endometriosis-related quality-of-life impairment, symptom severity, social support, and post-traumatic growth. The qualitative component uses semi-structured interviews to explore women's experiences of managing symptoms, accessing healthcare, responding to personal difficulties, navigating social relationships, and identifying sources of support. Quantitative data was analyzed using appropriate descriptive and inferential statistics, while interview data examined through reflexive thematic analysis. Findings from both components integrated to develop a broader understanding of women's experiences. The study is designed to contribute to understanding the psychological and social dimensions of endometriosis, with particular attention to self-compassion as a potential correlate of quality of life and post-traumatic growth. Its findings may help inform future research and supportive approaches that consider women's psychological needs alongside symptom management and access to healthcare.Downloads
